Engaku-Ji

There is a rokujizo (the six Ksitigarbhas) where there used to be a place where executions were performed. Behind there is a short path with a stone with one of Basho’s haiku written on it. The rokujizo is said to save people from the six sufferings, and even today people bring flowers in reverence.
