Hyogo

In Hyogo, which has the most kofun (ancient tomb), also has many old Buddhist temples. Jodo-ji, Ichijo-ji, Kakurin-ji, Taisan-ji, and Choko-ji are registered as national treasure and especially the oldest Ichijo-ji is noted for its sakura in spring and colored leaves in autumn. The UNESCO World Heritage Site Himeji-jo (castle) is said to be the best building built of wood in Japan. Know that Himeji-jo is on construction from 2009 to 2014 when you want to visit. As local food, "Botan nabe" that puts boar meet in it is famous.
