Shinobazu Pond

This natural pond, part of Ueno Park, used to be connected to Tokyo bay but due to receding coastlines is now solely a pond.

Shinobazu Pond is made up of three ponds, Hasu Pond, Boat Pond, and Uno Pond. In the center is Benten Island, on which Benten Shrine lies.

There are two panda statues at JR Ueno station: an adult and a child panda. They are stationed at the Panda Bridge Entrace and the Dairenrakukyo Concourse, which are both used as meeting places
