雷門

The cinnabar red gate of a Buddhist temple, "Kaminarimon" is the symbol of Asakusa. On the right side facing the gate is Fujin (God of wind) and on the left is Raijin (God of lightning). In the past it was called "Fu-raijin mon" because of the two Gods but today it is called "Kaminarimon". The lantern hanging in the middle weighs 700kg. You will see this gate on many tourist guide and pamphlets as the site that symbolizes Japan.
