Osaka Central Municipal Hall

This is the spot where you want to visit to see the illumination being light up for 2 hours after the sunset. It is one of the most notable hall architectures in Japan and both of its interior and exterior designs are considered to have reached a high degree of perfection, making it one of the most important buildings in the history of Japanese modern architecture. Therefore, the government has registered it as an important cultural asset of Japan. The architecture is based on neo-renaissance style with baroque magnificence but its architectural details reflect secessionism. It has an arch-shaped roof and Matsuoka Hisashi’s ceiling and wall painting on the Japanese creation myth in a special room, drawing a lot of people’s attention.
