Shikoku

Shikoku is a smallest island of four main islands in Japan. Tokushima, Kagawa, Ehime, and Kouchi belong to the region. Famous for the “eighty-eight temples” that relate to great Buddhist priest “Kobodaishi”. Touring all 88 places is called “Shikoku Henro”. It is a pilgrimage. Near these temples, you can see traditional style of pilgrims who wear in white with traditional hat and cane. Shikoku is also well known for great nature. Shimanto River is also called as the “Last Clear Stream”.
