Emergency Actions

  • Open windows/doors
  • Place your baggage at the entrance door
  • Wear thick sole shoes
  • Turn off the gas main
  • Charge cellphone battery
  • Turn off the breaker when blackouts
  • Use "Disaster Message Dial 171" (Tell your refuge too)

  • Minimum usage of phone call. (You may block emergency call that can save life).
  • Use internet phones such as Skype/Viber etc. instead.

◆CAUTION for EVACUATION

  • DO NOT get close to leaned shelf, refrigerator, or tall heavy objects.
  • Attention for glass, wall, fence.
  • If you see cracked wall or leaned pillar, evacuate from them.
  • If you see RED PAPER on a building, DO NOT get close to the building.
  • Avoid narrow road, beside bluff, beside river, or sea. Never.
  • Evacuate to a hill, if you live near a sea.
  • Wear helmet or at least hat to protect your head.
  • Avoid wear chemical fiber cloth that can easily get fire.
  • Equip mask or wet towel.
  • Move to windward in case of a fire.
  • If you on a car, verge to shoulder and stop.

◆FOR LADIES

  • If you wearing heeled shoes, break the heel.
  • Pull off stockings/pantyhose due to avoid burn on a fire. They may stick to your skin. Also, stockings/pantyhose can be used to stop bleeding and other injuries. Do not throw them away. Keep it.

What to carry

◆What you should have in your baggage when quake happened.

  • CASH
  • Photo ID -In case of emergency, you can withdraw cash without cash card or booklet if you have photo ID.
  • Seal, Insurance Card. (May not necessary)
  • Drinkable water (3 Liters/1.7gallons per day / person)
  • Emergency rations (Canned food, snacks, etc.)
  • Mobile phone and (standby) battery charger.
  • Tissue paper
  • Towels (4~6)
  • Flash-light / Torch
  • Body warmer, pen light
  • Plastic wrap (Can use instead of dish, bandage, and etc.)
  • Blanket
  • Family picture (For confirmation when you get lost)
  • Whistle (To notice where you are when get buried alive)
  • Glasses.
  • Pill
  • Music player (for relax)
  • Radio
  • Sanitary napkin (as much as possible) -also it can be used as a bandage.

◆Baby Mother/Father

  • Diaper
  • Milk
  • Wet towel
  • Canteen

These items will not supply. Please hug and talk to baby/child for their relief. For pregnant, please talk to your baby in you.
